The Terminal Modernization Program (TMP) at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) involves the transformation of an existing structure and construction of a new building that will result in a 635,000 square-foot terminal that is the gateway to Pittsburgh. With a focus on innovation, efficiency, and environmental sustainability, the TMP will be infused with smart technology and elements of nature gleaned from community input.

"Travel has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Airports have a magical quality on a personal level, but what this new airport will do for our city and region economically is provide a new front door. That’s huge. This also is the first completely public project of my career.  Not a bad one to start with."

Nicole’s outstanding project management and leadership skills provide direction and oversight on important elements of the TMP. In addition, her strong community and foundation connections are being brought to bear for relationship building and in seeking additional funding sources and partnerships.

"I’m fortunate to learn from a female CEO as fearless as Christina, be inspired by CDO Paul’s enthusiasm even on the darkest days and shown the example of proven project leadership on a billion-dollar project by the aviation experts of Paslay Management Group. I learn something every day, and I’m so grateful to have built-in mentors on such a seminal project."

Nicole has been tasked with protecting the special sauce of the project – what makes this airport design a design that instantly says this is Pittsburgh? After Covid-19 new realities and new opportunities are also being explored. From art to advanced tech to local materials and local makers, she is drawing on her foundation and community relationships to showcase the best of what our region is – from the moment you step into the terminal.
